Comedy sketch writers required – deadline 10 July.
We are opening up submissions for the next Messrs Comedy which is currently pencilled in for late August.
After the one-night pilot was a huge success we are looking to perform over the course of three evenings in a central London venue. The main bulk of the forthcoming show will be the best material sourced from the pilot; however, we will also be inputting new material.
Our aim is to promote new writing and create an evening of an almost tele-visual experience, giving each sketch a theme tune. With this in mind, should you wish to have any sitcom extracts or comedy film extracts performed then please don’t hesitate to submit those as well.
We ask that you adhere to our previous demands of minimal technical requirements and no more than six minutes in length.
2 days to deadline!
Hoxton Hall is inviting submissions for its inaugural Hoxton Select programme. This programme will be a unique season of high quality, professional work programmed by an appointed panel of young people at Hoxton Hall.
The theme for our first season is ‘Urbanism’
Shortlisted companies/artists will be asked to come to Hoxton Hall to run a short workshop with the panel of young people, and to ‘scratch and pitch’ their project to them.
Successful companies/artists will receive four weeks of free rehearsal space, a grant of up to £1,500 towards production and a run of up to three weeks in the main space at Hoxton Hall. Companies will also receive a 40% split of their box office takings.
We would also like to offer a touring company the opportunity to perform as part of the season, and we are offering free performance space for four nights.
Our first season begins on August 16, so companies must ensure they are available to rehearse/perform from July 19 to Sept 17.
Please inform us in your application if you have any availability issues around this time.
