She Writes: What’s through the door? developed our showcase format further in 2013, where we showcased three short plays on two night one-off performances, in a full production. The shows were produced by Sam Hall, and directed by Amy Clare Tasker, and co-produced with the assistance of The Canal Cafe Theatre in London, and the Rochester Literature Festival in Kent. A showcase of short plays by women playwrights
We launched She Writes, our occasionally regular night of new short plays by women in October 2011. We produced a show every two or three months. The format was a script-in-hand rehearsed reading, showcasing about 8-10 plays on a loose theme at each event. The night was programmed by Sam Hall and directed by Sarah Davies.
